Renewable Energy Education

TREC’s Vision is to create a world in which everyone is fully aware of the link between their energy habits and environmental impacts and all people have a clear and easy choice for participating in renewable energy and conservation activities. Since 2003, TREC has been offering renewable energy tours, curriculm-linked workshops and hands-on activities to over 12,000 students, youth and families each year. We offer the following programs through our Education Program:

Kids' World of energy

Kids' World of Energy:

Through our Kids’ World of Energy Program, we offer Workshops and Excursions for grades 5, 6, 7 and 9, which are linked to the Science and Geography Curriculum. Green Collar Careers Green Collar Careers is a new initiative to engage secondary-school students in the green energy sector through relevant co-op placements, a new green careers web portal and more!

virtual tour Take a tour of the Toronto Wind Turbine, online!
wattwaize Wattwize works with classes and EcoTeams (or a combination of the two) to engage them in a structured energy conservation project. In this participatory program, students evaluate their school’s energy consumption; create an energy conservation plan; and then implement their plans to reduce their school’s GHG emissions.
