Community and co-operative power has become an increasingly popular model in creating a diverse and sustainable energy landscape. Legislation like Ontario’s Green Energy Act has encouraged renewable energy projects of all scales. However, being a new innovation that is very different from traditional business models, standard development and management tools are difficult to apply to community groups and co-ops.
