David Cork

Executive Director

David is responsible for broadening & strengthening the relationships with our clients, our partners and our supporters. He brings a wealth of experience in the solar industry and was a co-founder of the Ottawa Renewable Energy Co-op. David has enjoyed success in the world of high-tech start-ups and acting as a mentor to entrepreneurs. In his off-hours you can find David outside – skiing, sailing, cycling or golfing dependent on the season.

Mary Warner

Finance Manager

Mary is responsible for the accounting for TREC and its associated organizations; meeting each board’s review schedule and reporting format. Mary has a BA in Sociology and Global Studies from Laurier and completed the International Project Management Post-Grad program at Humber College where she discovered her interest in bookkeeping, budgeting and financial reporting.  In her spare time Mary loves getting outdoors and biking with her two young girls.

Greg Goubko

Services Manager

Greg focuses his energy on TREC’s Community Member & Investment Services to help build and support social enterprises through managing fixed-income-securities. Greg’s passion for sustainability was developed at McGill’s School of Environment, where he received a bachelors of science degree in Earth Science and Economics. On his time off, Greg enjoys strolling around town with his two dogs Atticus and Scout.

Linda Varekamp

Operations & Communications Manager

Linda is responsible for TREC communications and marketing, and for coordinating the operations needs for the TREC family, including HR, IT, and corporate accounts. Linda has a BA in English and Environmental Studies from UofT, and is a big fan of cycling, gardening and DIY culture.

Stephanie Pinnington

Marketing Manager

Steph leads TREC’s marketing strategy, and coordinates campaigns such as our Community Bonds outreach. Steph has her Masters in Environmental Studies from York University, and has worked in research and communications in the renewable energy sector. In her free time, Steph enjoys travelling to remote corners of the planet with her son and husband.

Jason Latremoille

Office & Project Coordinator

Jason has a background in Environmental & Resource Science & Studies (ERS), Indigenous Environmental Studies, and Indigenous Studies. In addition to supporting the office, he supports TREC in the area of renewable energy education for First Nations communities. In his spare time he enjoys farmer’s markets, global cuisine, cycling and CBC Radio.

Kate O’Coin

Administrative Assistant

After spending a number of years in the music industry, Kate returned to school to pursue a degree in Mathematics and Linguistics at the University of Toronto.  She is now assisting the TREC team in its IT and administrative efforts. In her spare time, Kate enjoys volunteering with the food bank.

Sanderson Dear

Services Clerk

Sanderson has recently joined the Services team to help juggle the data and paperwork we manage on behalf of our clients. He comes to TREC with a background managing the record label Stasis Recordings, and a strong interest in social and environmental causes. His downtime activities include writing and listening to music, watching movies, and working on various D.I.Y. projects.

Bill is a retired Senior Engineer at Kinectrics Inc. (previously the Research Division of Ontario Hydro) where he worked on appliance efficiency, residential building science, ventilation and other “wise use” topics.

Bahaa Samy, MSc, MBA

Bahaa Samy is an Investments Associate at AMP Solar Group, responsible for covering the company’s global investments in community power.

James Law, MES

James is Philanthropy Solutions Advisor, Channel Partners and Innovation at Grantbook. He develops systems that help organizations maximize the potential of their limited resources in achieving large social missions.

Rebecca Black, MES – Co-Chair

Rebecca is the founder of Black Current Marketing, a communications consultancy that works exclusively with companies and organizations developing low carbon solutions to climate change. She is also Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the capacity-building non-profit Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE).

Stephanie Tombari, Ph.D.

Stephanie is Research Manager at the World Green Building Council, where she provides research expertise and guidance for WorldGBC’s reports, research projects, impact metrics and member value surveys.

Scott Snowden, BSc, Eng

Scott is an entrepreneur specializing in Project Management and Software Design. He is a founding partner of Flywheel Strategic, a Toronto based internet technology agency.

Brian Iler, LLB – Secretary

Brian is a founding partner of Iler Campbell LLP, an innovative law firm with a primary focus on providing legal services and advice to Ontario’s charities, co-operatives, and non-profits.

David is managing partner of the accounting firm Prentice, Yates & Clark, and specializes in accounting, auditing and financial reporting for non-profit organizations.
